"Rain" is a comedy/drama that follows the daily life of teenage transsexual (who is coincidentally named Rain) attempting to go through her senior year being only identified as a woman. I’d like for it to be very funny and entertaining, but the story will also touch on many rather heavy subjects including acceptance from family and piers, blind hatred and many of the other difficulties faced by members of the LGBT community.
This comic contains:
- Occasionally strong language
- Sexual themes and situations (but no nudity)
- Gay, lesbian, bi and transgendered (and straight) characters
- Lousy or non-existent backgrounds
I'm interested in hearing your overall collective thoughts about the comic so far. You're, of course, welcome to say anything at anytime (and many of you do and I'm always happy to see it), but I sort of view a completed chapter as a bit of a milestone. I figure it's as good a time as any to hear your thoughts about what you like or dislike or whatever about the comic. I would've probably been better off posting this along with the last page of the chapter like I did the first time around, but I'm visiting family at the moment so my spare time is a little erratic.
So, the long and short of it is this: I want you to tell me what you think. You can reply to me anyway you like, but it might be easiest if you simply PM me. Don't worry, I don't bite. If you are interested in helping me out, I have a little guideline of questions below, but you're of course welcome to contribute as much or as little information as possible. Don't think too hard; just be honest. ^_^
***
- Favorite character so far? Has this changed since the first chapter?
- The collective least favorite character at the end of chapter 1 was Gavin. Has chapter 2 changed your thoughts about him at all for better or worse?
- Favorite page in Chapter 2? Did you laugh out loud at any point? Did you cry?
- If you're transgendered, do you feel Rain is believeable and representative of what you know?
- If you're cisgendered (ie - NOT transgendered), is Rain's situation easy enough to understand? Can you empathize at all?
- Shipping anyone yet? :P
- Any other predictions/theories/hopes for the future? Have I confirmed or debunked any previously formed theories you may have had with chapter 2? Have there been any surprises?
- Optional, additional thoughts?

I don't want to come off like some kind of dork that's desperate for attention, so I want to promise not to ask this at the end of every chapter... but I am a very neurotic person (where do you think Rain gets it from?) so you might just be better off assuming this isn't the last time I'm going to ask. XD
But most importantly, thank you for reading Rain so far! I hope you're enjoying it, and I hope you'll continue to read it!
Chapter 2 of Rain is almost over. The last page will be posted on March 18th (that's Friday next week). Following that I've decided to take a week hiatus from posting story pages in order for me to catch up a little. I'm still far enough ahead that I'd like to think I don't actually have to worry, but I'd rather extend my leeway a little more if at all possible. Before you start pelting things at me, I promise not to leave you hanging. There are things for me to still post despite this so you (hopefully) won't be too bored.
Anyway, you will be getting new pages for the next two weeks until the 18th. Following that, Chapter 3 will begin on March 28th (the Monday of the following week). I guarantee this and promise not to push it back any further, as I was hesitant to do this hiatus as is. But as I've said before, I'd rather be able to plan my breaks in reasonable places, than leave you guys hanging at (for the sake of example), a cliffhanger page that may require the following page to make complete sense.

Many apologies!
I'm sure a good number of you noticed that I wasn't updating the comic earlier this week. To explain, I've recently moved and do not yet have internet set up in my home (long, agonizing story...). Up until now though, I haven't worried much about it, because there was a specific spot in my new apartment where I could comfortably sit and mooch a connection from. Then they disappeared.
Plan B: I went to the closest available wi-fi hotspot, but for whatever reason, SmackJeeves is a blocked site on their network, rendering me not only incapable of posting here, but even letting you know that I can't post here. Today, I went through a little extra trouble to find a different wi-fi place that DOES allow SmackJeeves. By now, the pages I couldn't post earlier this week should be up. And tonight's update will still be up tonight at the normal time. ^_^
Anyway, I can't apologize enough for the inconvenience if anyone was bummed out by the absence of new Rain pages.
Finally, for future reference, I'd just like to remind everyone that Rain is hosted on three sites including this one. Also my DeviantArt account and on ComicFury (links below). This way, in case anything like this happens again, you can still check one of the other sites to see if everything is somewhere else instead. If I can help it though, it WON'T happen again. I'll probably just be coming to this location to post until I finally get a connection in my own home.
So, once again, very sorry.
