Big important page for Christmas. The first tiny hint we learn about Aunt Fara’s past, the first we ever directly received an indication that Rain is not physically female (although I’m relatively certain 95% of you were already on board with that already), AND the first contact between Rain and Maria… all on one page!
And, I'm drawing a blank on what else I can talk about so let's just leave it at this - Merry Christmas, everybody! Or whatever you celebrate, just have a good one. ^_^
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
Any one notice the trans pride background in this on
@Kasey: I did! It was a nice touch!
Whatever happened to this subplot? I know it's a given that Fara believes Rain can handle this after reading the rest of the comic, but this just seemed dropped out of the blue. Then again, it may not have been intended as a subplot and just a push for Rain?
A lot is said on this page. I'm not quite sure which point you're referring to.
@LittleLynn84: The whole "If you can't handle it, then there's always going back home and presenting as a boy until college" "I'll show Aunt Fara I can handle this" thing. Unless I missed subtle hints, I don't think this was ever addressed again.
Ah, I see. It was never meant as a subplot, actually. It's kind of an idle threat on Fara's part. She just wants her to stop freaking out, so she's reminding Rain that this is what she wanted. Otherwise, Fara knows full well that Rain would never choose to go back to presenting male. It's a little manipulative, but Fara is sort of leading Rain to be more confident just to show her aunt up. She knows Rain will hear this and want to prove how important this is to her.
And... she does. XD
(Also, on the meta side, this page likewise acts to spell out to readers that Rain is transgender. To many people, it probably seems obvious. But to new readers that might not know much about trans matters yet... it's possible that it might not be entirely clear. The dialogue is set up in such a way as to give Fara reason to address this.)
@LittleLynn84: Thanks for clearing it up!
