This may actually be one of my favorite joke pages to date, and one of the few that date back many years to the original version of the story. Rain’s neuroticism knows no bounds.

I can only wonder what’s going through Gavin’s mind right now...

I almost feel sorry for poor Gavin. He looks so confused, sadly most people handle being confused badly.

I actually kinda want to know why she has tampons though if she doesn't need them.

@partiallystars:

Long before I started transition, I read a suggestion to carry period supplies in one's bag as a means of passing. This way, in the unlikely event that someone sees the inside of your bag for whatever reason (you ask them to get something for you, you have to empty it out to find something, etc), they see these products no man would ever functionally have a use for, thus indirectly making her more passable. It's not really about being able to use it, as it is the illusion that if one is seen carrying it around, it looks as though they use it.

Early on in my transition, I used to do this because of that suggestion. But for years, a situation never came up. Also, everyone I hung out with knew I was trans anyway, making the whole thing rather moot. The only use doing this ever had was when my wife had a surprise early period while we were at the mall one time, and I just happened to have exactly what she needed. I'm not quite as worried about passing anymore, but I still carry one around in case I can at least be of help to someone.

So it's a little bit of a neurotic thing to do, but if passing is important to a person, maybe carrying around tampons/pads/etc will off some peace of mind (even if no one ever sees it). And that's why Rain has them.
