Alternate titles for this page include “Nerdgasm”, “Rain Actually Talks!”, and “WALL OF TEXT”. So, of course, I go with the unwitty one. I don't even like the word "otaku".

I still have admittedly mixed feelings about how I introduced this into the story, but it is (believe it or not) a very important aspect of this comic, so I knew I didn’t want to wait too much longer to do so.

As it stands, she can already be seen reading it here.

...and then it’s even next to her bedside if you look closely.

If you’ve been paying any attention to the story as a whole for the past 30 pages (hey, we’re on page 30!), then you probably should be able to draw at least one parallel from Rain’s description (there are two important ones in Rain’s description alone). If not… well, I guess that’s okay too. It won’t really hurt how you see the story for now. Just don't ask me to explain it, because I won't. ^_^

And for a possibly better and less eccentric synopsis of "Black Wings, Kaminari", do consider checking the description here - http://littlelynn84.deviantart.com/art/RAIN-Black-Wings-Kaminari-168292449

A proud swordsman, a hotheaded mercenary woman, and a silly mage boy?
Parallels?

I've looked over your story and I find it interesting, but you have consistent problem with putting too much text on a page. I can tell you want to explain the details and tell your story well, but too much text can overwhelm a reader. Comics tell stories visually and you need to be able to summarize your words or explain them through your art. Again interesting story, just thought I'd give my two cents.

Is that an actual manga? Or did you make it up? If you did, the concept sounds really cool!

Nina?

I love your webcomic! By any chance you haven't played Breath of Fire 2 have you? Because Kaminari reminds me a LOT of the playable character "Nina" in BoF 2. Princess with black wings, forced to leave her kingdom because no one else had black wings and they were considered bad luck.

@Kira-Chan:
I made it up. There isn't (to the best of my knowledge) a manga out there like this.

@Duskfire:
As a matter of fact, Kaminari was indeed inspired by Nina. I'm quite fond of that game and that character. I tried not to make Kaminari too similar of course, but I definitely pulled a lot of my inspiration from it. ^_^

I can't help but think that Kaminari sounds a lot like calamari. @LittleLynn84 maybe you could make a rain delay making a joke about that
