Interesting fact: while this statistic MAY have been true at one time, upon further research, I’ve found it might actually not have much bearing anymore. Regardless of the percentages changing, the statistic itself seems to somehow remain widely accepted due to unfortunate stereotypes.

All the same, Rain interpreting this as validating herself as a woman is kind of funny though. I mean, it’s a horrible way of looking at things on her part, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t also proud of sucking at math in my high school days for the exact same reason.

I know the whole point of Rudy saying "this is what I'm supposed to do, right?" was to reflect his inexperience and uncertainty, and the math comment he made was supposed to "confirm" Rain's gender identity (in her own mind at least) in a humorous way, but I still kind of wish you wouldn't included those. Gender stereotypes just make me cringe.

Other than that, still curious where this is going. :DDDD

Well, I suck at math. My best friend sucks at math. All the ladies in the bakery that I work at suck at math. And my brother and husband are like human calculators. The only exception I know is my mom, who also is a human calculator. So while the stereotype may not be 100% accurate (as is the case with every stereotype), I'd say this one isn't too far off.

It was true...now there's barely a statistical difference, at least for British children lol

Women do kick butt in almost everything else though ^^

@LilyFlareVII: Well my math teacher is a girl and she's another one of them human calculators. And I'm a girl who's not quite a human calculator, but I am in honors math, though there are more guys than girls in the class (I think)

The kiss moment was a cute scene. Also, Rain's reaction at the end was very cute.

However, I am still rooting for Rain+ Maria, heh.

Well I personally really suck at maths (got a G in foundation-tier GCSE Maths lol), but that's still a really problematic thing to say given that any statistically significant difference would have to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Even if sucking at math isn't so great, or the statistics are incorrect, Rain taking her matching the statistics or stereotype as validation is totally truth in television.

That aside though, Rain×Rudy still breaks my heart a little. I know I should trust the author, but I can't help but feel it's going to end bad, either by hurting them or by perpetuating the bad 'it's okay if it's you' thing homo/transphobes use to not change their minds in face of the facts.

I've always loved math, and I try hard not to agonize over it like every other thing that might make me seem less feminine.

Transgender woman suggested to be a tutor? Is this a reference to the other transgender comic "Wildflowers"?

News to me. I've never actually read Wildflowers. It's on my to-do list, but I don't really know anything about it.
