Here’s a riddle for you: if a girl hates boys but is not a “lesbian”, yet (very) interested in dating a particular girl, what is she? It’s not really meant to be a secret like so many other developments in this story though. I kinda wanted to spell it out here, but I just couldn’t seem to work the word into the dialogue in a way that felt natural. I wanted to really stress how awkward and out of her comfort zone Chanel was even talking about this, no matter how eager she was to pursue it. So, I felt it would be kind of out-of-character if she could manage to articulate and pinpoint her feelings.
But there is a word for it, and it’s the first time this demographic is being addressed in the story (and I must say, I’m happy to include it at last). If you guess it, I won’t deny it. Otherwise, it will be revealed officially a little later.
Oh yeah, so MarNel is official now, I guess. It was kinda predictable (many of you jumped on that bandwagon the second they started talking again), but pat yourself on the back if you saw it coming. ^_^
This was a weird, all-over-the-place blurb… :O_o:
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

that was relatively painless now was it. (first comment)
She might be asexual. Uh huh. But appreciates being with girls over boys. Or something.
Or she's an eunuch due to genetics.
Sexuality is way more fluid then people would like to admit.
what an adorable page
AWWWWWWWWWW I AM SO HAPPY FOR THEM!!!
al;dksjf;a these guys are so cute <3
Also, I like your new profile picture, Lynn :)
Thank you very much~! :D
Definitely Demisexual. :D
:3 I really like this pairing, yes indeedy!
but...erm, can someone define what demisexual is to me? o.o''' I've never heard of that before
She is adorable.
I fairly recently learned this word myself. A demisexual has no sexual attraction to either gender... but they may develop one for a person after getting to know them. It's probably more complex than that, but that's the short version.
It makes her Maria-sexual. *nods* I don't know the exact term for it, but basically, you're completely straight...but also completely in love with someone who just so happens to be the same gender. Because of the person they are. Nothing to do with genders, just the person.
I think I've even used it for a few characters, myself. Granted, I still get called a yaoi fangirl for that since it still ends up with boy/boy pairings, but eh. I'm accustomed to not having people really understand the intricate psychological framework of some of my stories.
@Shiori-Tsumi: It doesn't really mean you're straight but can be with someone of the same gender if you know them. Demisexual people can be bi, straight, gay, etc. They just don't feel sexual attraction to ANYONE until they get to know the person better. But that doesn't mean they feel sexual attraction to just anyone they get to know, but sharing an intimate bond with the person is necessary for the attraction to occur. For example, a demisexual lesbian would be a girl that feels attraction only to other girls that she forms an emotion bond with. She would not be sexually attracted to a boy that she formed a bond with because she's not bi.
@Shiori-Tsumi: Maybe you're thinking of homoromantic? It sounds a bit like it.
I'm guessing Chanel is demisexual. She sounds a lot like me, actually... I usually am not attracted to anybody except those I have a strong emotional connection with.
I guess that she's asexual, and maybe demiromantic :D
@LittleLynn84: Okay, thank you!!
I figured maybe she was a misandrist with a single-target sexuality towards Maria.
Could be single-target sexuality, demisexuality, or homoromantic asexual. But whatever her sexual identity may be, this was adorable.
demisexual lesbian? Homoromantic asexual?
I heard of this series and decided to take a look at it yesterday. Since then I have read up to the current page and I absolutely adore this series. Quick question though, when will Volume 2 go up for sale and through what chapters will it be?
Thank you for your time ^_^
Thank you very much! I'm glad you're enjoying the comic so far, and I hope you enjoy what's still to come! :D
I don't have an exact date planned for Volume 2, but I can say that it will continue everything from Chapter 7 through Chapter 14 (plus another exclusive print-only chapter like Volume 1 had). Because of that, I kind of have to at least wait until Chapter 14 is done (and we're still pretty early in Chapter 13 now). I'm predicting Summer at earliest and Autumn at latest. Again, I can't give exact dates, but that's what I'm striving for. ^_^
This is a bit like how Glee started trying to tackle way too many social issues rather than focusing on one thing at a time.
No offense, but the Everyone Is Gay/Queer/Whatever trope is getting old.
Whatever floats your boat. I'm sorry you don't like my story, but you are welcome to feel that way. By all means, if you don't like it then you probably shouldn't waste your time reading it.
If you don't like that "EVERYONE is queer" (actually, less than a third of the entire cast is, but that's besides the point), I'm sure you can find tons of other webcomics featuring completely cisgender heterosexual casts. You have your pick, I assure you. ^_^
@LittleLynn84: I'm pretty sure the word for her is 'Chanel' ;)
OK everyone please take a sec to admire this tiny detail: they're being adorably gay on the church's bathroom.
@tzuyufan14: Haha, it is indeed adorable and seems somewhat ironic :3
