(Dirtiest joke yet, I think...) XD
Yet another long forgotten fact that hasn’t been mentioned in since it was first brought up (in this case, nearly 300 pages ago). Rain has asthma. Of course, we haven’t really seen her HAVE to contend with it. This particular situation is likely not inhaler-worthy, but it’s enough to send her into a coughing fit.
The wording for this page was murder. I knew what I wanted Rudy to say in the fourth panel, but I had trouble finding that perfect balance of “believably innocent statement” plus “awkward double-meaning a group of teenagers will LUNGE on”. Frankly, I’m still iffy on it. At the same time, this is basically how I remember my high school days. You couldn’t say innocent words like “blow” or “swallow” or “beaver” even in the most clean of contexts without laughter erupting around you. It’s one of those things I REALLY don’t miss about being a teenager.
Oh, any guesses to our door visitor?
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
Rain is now on Facebook! Like the Page, and share the love~!
What IS she blowing on? @_@
Trying to think of a New Year game and nothing pops to mine.
Ah, on the last page, Maria was talking about not wanting to have to watch Rain and Gavin play a certain old video game all night. "And when no one suggested anything" Rain is show holding said game, blowing on it (which supposedly makes them work).
It definitely works, I still play my old snes and 64, and blowing in the cartridge always helps. Although the instructions say not to do it hehe...
Yeah, I used to do the same with my NES. But based on how the manuals always say not to do it, and that it didn't seem work 100% of the time (some carts, I'd have to take out and try again several times with), I've always wondered if there was any proven evidence of it working, or if it was just a weird placebo effect that got spread around because it seemed to work sometimes.
i think the reason that you weren't supposed to blow on them is because the circuit boards contained limestone then, and when you blow you shoot out little spit droplets. So, when you blew on it you slowly dissolved parts of the circuit. Then again this could be complete BS and I'm very, very wrong.
My guesses are:
Kellen (Wait, shit, is that her name? I forgot...rains sister)
OR, JUST TO BE RANDOM, that bully-guy who used to pick on Rudy xD
I cant help but worry about Rudy and Rain's relationship sometimes. The look on Rudy's face worries me for future chapters...
Oh...I see. Maybe blowing on them blew out the dust that collected over the years?
@Valley: thats what i always figured.
Yes. Rain's sister's name is Kellen. ^_^
@LittleLynn84: Don't worry about the joke, I think it went over very well. :)
Hrm... at the door? Well, Far asked Rain to come over instead of just letting whoever it is come in. I'm guessing Aiken is feeling badly for acting like a complete tool, or it's Kellen.
I found the wording to be quite adequate, though you authors comment on the word beaver being a word that set you and your friends off seems odd me. Then again, I'm Canadian, and the beaver is our national animal and is even on our nickel, so it's hard to find that dirty, even when we knew it was a slang term.
Oh, I assumed the asthma thing was just a lie to get her out of PE. In this situation, amongst my friends, we all would have just bust up laughing if someone said what Rudy did xD
In fact, if we were blowing on NES games, I'd be disappointed in my choice of friends if no one made an oral sex joke!
i think this is like the cutest page ever.
I actually lol'd ^_^
@Valley: Old-style game cartridge. I thought it was an inhaler or something at first, because my mind reads stuff wierdly so I saw the reference to asthma out of context
@Allie - Yeah, now I see that. Use to have a T.I. LONG ago...they used cartridges and tapes.
What i dont get it....
