First off, because a lot of people seem to have forgotten who Jessica is, I’d like to remind you about Aiken’s fiancé.
It’s also worth noting that this was almost not the page today. I changed the order of the next couple pages a bit. Originally, I was going to have Fara and Jessica leave, but have focus remain on Rain’s party before showing this. At the last second, I looked at it again and felt this flowed a bit better. We’ll get back to Rain next week. Let’s take a moment to learn more about what kind of person Jessica is for now.
So, what kind of person is Jessica? And WHAT is Aiken up too? XD
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
And don’t forget, Rain is now on Facebook! Like the Page to hear musings from the author you might not normally hear, and see images specially made for Facebook followers.
Aw, poor Jessica. It can be hard to find people to accept trans people in a relationship sometimes. I have learned that so far.
All the feels for Jessica </3
XD Well, if I was in her shoes I wouldn't want to curse him out either after all that time.
Except I cant help but feel that Aiken did that in a way to apologize to Rain.
something like "Sorry that I can't accept you right now; here's someone who can." kind of thing.
I feel sorry for Jessica and Aiken at this point.
:( *offers Jessica all teh hugs*
To be honest if the "something good" *was* Aiken himself that would be incredibly arrogant on his part, after the way he messed her around. If he wanted her back, he should be begging, not acting like he's doing her a favour. But it would be in character. As it is, well I'm intrigued... maybe it shows some shift in his attitude?
Did you decide for Jessica to be Asian-looking from the start?
It's kinda hard to tell since she has her eyes closed in both early appearances.
Was that an on-the-spot decision or did you always plan for her to look like that?
It's complicated, actually. Jessica, in her very first "appearance" back in Chapter 4, was not planned to be Asian. Somewhere along the way, between then and her second appearance in Chapter 12, I made that conscious decision (notably, because I noticed how incredibly not diverse the characters' ethnicities are). The fact that her eyes were closed before is actually kind of a coincidence.
You're right. It does flow better this way.
Not only does it flow better this way, but I'm really excited to see what Jessica has to say/do in the upcoming comics. Keep up the good work!
On one hand, aww, poor Jess. On the other hand, now we can ship Fara×Jessica :)
