So, are you convinced yet, Maria? Everyone?
Can I just say I love these two pages. We learn quite a lot about Emily here, and just a dash about her prior experience with Maria. Of course the details are still a bit fuzzy, but you should kinda get the idea. As for everyone else though, much of what Emily references goes way back.
Chanel – Actually, this JUST happened. Page 330+331 - Complex Orientation
Kylie – This dates back to the Halloween party. Page 140 - Entry
Rudy – Before the Halloween party. Page 124 - That Sort of Person
Gavin – Actually, Gavin was the hard one, because they never really interacted much in canon. So we’ll just take her word for it here.
Rain – Emily DID hate her since day one. Page 10 - High School
But they became friends after Rain displayed kindness to her.Page 224 - Hellraiser
Oh, yeah. And the comment Emily makes about her mother has been referenced too. Page 301 - Letter

I always have been convinced of Emily once she and Rain spoke at 224. There was a lot to read on these pages! And left me with just enough unanswered so I can let my mind run with it too! Nicely done, Lynn!~
But my note:
I feel like Maria and Emily have switched places on "Who's the bitch here" kind of situation. Apparently in the past they were good friends, something happened, and Emily would be the one people would point fingers at as a jerk. Now I feel like it's the other way around; not friends, something happens, and Maria is being really mean.
XD can you tell I don't like people who hold grudges and act on it for that long? hehehe
>.> I never thought Emily genuinely hated Rain though. That surprised me. I thought it was just a casual "oh i hate her she's ruining everything!" thing. Not serious vendetta...
The Dialog is to long
This may be a little offtopic, but the fact that Rain and Rudy are dating is still rustling my jimmies.
Well... Now I remember why I thought Emily was homophobic. Because she ACTED in a blatantly homophobic way towards Rudy. And she's only even half-apologising for that here. She's apologising for assuming there would be drama about his sexuality, but she's not apologised for blaming HIM for that drama instead of her homophobic friends who would have had to have been part of creating any drama. But its good that she's trying, at least
@WiddleMow: I reckon she doesn't mean hate as in a vendetta and wishing her bad so much as hate as in "...she seems really annoying"
I love rudy's line in the last panel for some reason.
Maria and Emily were friends?? This changes everything!
I don't in the least bit blame Maria for holding a grudge. Because all this time, Emily never apologized for screwing her over.
Now, if Maria continued to hold a grudge even after Emily's apology, I wouldn't be okay with that, but knowing Maria, she's going to accept.
@Haldo: I think if someone screws you over really badly, you can't be blamed for not being comfortable around them even *if* they put you on the spot in front of all your friends to forgive them, to be honest. Maybe that's what Emily has in mind, more likely her apology is actually sincere, but either way the effect is to shame Maria if she finds herself unable (and it's almost always inability rather than unwillingness) to put the past behind her
Awww that's so beautiful. It's one of those moments that reinforce the naive belief buried deep within me of "why can't we all just get along?"
And I'm so glad Emily is mature enough to apologise to those she has hurt; perhaps this way she'll find the acceptance of friends to replace that which she never received from her mother? <3
@Allie: Point taken. It doesn't look like Emily was trying to do that, though.
@Haldo: Still the effect, but I *am* glad to see she does seem to be trying to be sincere :)
