Personally, I like this one a LOT. Whereas the first one is rather subtle in design focusing on "Rain, the character", this one draws a bit more attention to the themes of "Rain, the story". I know some people are closeted and would probably hesitate to wear something this, but I personally think this is an important option to offer. My only regret is that I haven't revealed the pansexual and intersex characters yet so I can't have their colors quite yet.
To answer a couple of questions: Yes, you can remove the words if you don't want them. Yes, there will be variations featuring solo representations of the above characters (including splitting Maria and Rudy) if you just want your favorite character or the "pride umbrella" you identify with. Yes, it could eventually come in more than just white. And no, I don't know how much it will cost yet.
Feedback would be super appreciated. Do you like this? Would you buy it? I want to know whether your approve or disapprove so tell me what you think! ^_^
Ohmygod I love Ky in this! So perfect and adorable and *squee*!
I had to do some googling to figure out Ky's umbrella. I found a page with all the colors and then once I found her's, I had to look up what genderqueer meant.
One of the things I love so much about this comment is it can be educational about many aspects of the LGBT spectrum/community.
I did already know half of these (the most common "gay pride", the "Transgender" and the "Asexuality") but Bisexuality and Genderqueer were new to me, as was Gavin's.
Is Gavin's one for heterosexuality? I wasn't aware there WAS one for that, and he does seem to be developing a preference for people with "other" gender identities. So I thought I should check.
I'd like to think Gavin's as "black and white", meaning he has no gray areas and therefore cannot understand why there have to be gray areas, I'm similar in that aspect. Like, I'm a bi female who has a male gender role but prefer to be female in physical gender. That's who I am, no more no less. No confusion involved. I'm straight forward and simple. I'd like to think that's what it means anyways.
And I'm totally wrong, it means hetero. I like mine better. :(
... ummm ... Take my money already?
OMG! There's gonna be a pan-sexual character?! Awesome! XD
Looking forward to these T-shirts :D
@naobi_lynn: At least your theory made a simple answer far more interesting, so thank you. ^-^
I do actually like the heterosexual one though, because so many heterosexuals have expressed prejudice against other sexual/gender identities that having pride in your own heterosexuality is often seen as a sign of prejudice. That annoys me a lot, because I think security in your own identity can make it easier to accept other peoples.
I do accept that there are people who do use "pride in their own identity" as an excuse to bash other peoples though.
I think these would be fantastic as buttons rather than as a shirt, because later on you can add the characters you're teasing us with now.
^ OMG buttons! Fantastic idea.
I would actually consider buying some if you sold them as pins!
I'm with Phoebe Z and Spinmuffins, they'd be perfect for buttons :)
Does this mean Kylie is definitely genderqueer? I thought his gender hadn't been established.
I love this!! I would like colours other than white though. And a link to where you can find what all those colours mean would be super useful!
All of the colors match the pride flags corresponding with what they demographic they MOST represent, so it would be:
Rain - Transgender
Rudy/Maria - Gay/Lesbian
Fara - Bisexual
Kylie - Genderqueer
Gavin - Heterosexual
Chanel - Asexual
I hope that helps. ^_^
I think these would also make for really cute necklaces. I wonder if anyone on Etsy would be willing to team up with you to make them?
0_0 FAVORITE. PAGE. OF ANY COMIC. EVER. I love you so much right now!
I want, no, I /NEED/ this shirt. And in the solo designs, I think you should also do Ky in "girl-mode" as Rudy would say. :gasp!: Or even better, spoiler alert, here, in "androgynous-mode"! Oh, I /SO/ need that!
I was pretty happy to find out that there are heterosexual colours. I thought it was cool that we were being a part of the spectrum, but after some googling I'm left a bit sad and confused as to whether it's as accepting as all that.
