A lot of people were taking the running gag with Jessica’s name personally. And I totally get their reasons. To be honest, it was going to become far less frequent after this page anyway. But the final panel was changed after the small uproar I received earlier into something a fair bit more conclusive. I just needed to close things in a way that felt in character to both of them. So, no more bad blood. ^_^
Plus, I had to use “that name” at least once. I HAD to.

"That's a totally beautiful name and all"
You're such a scamp sneaking that in Jocelyn, I approve. ;P
In all fairness, it does raise questions about her attitude that it's *Jessica* whose name she won't get right rather than Gavin or Emily or Rudy - what is it that distinguishes Jessica from the other characters?
@Allie: She probably slipped up once and then just decided to go with it, I don't really think there's anything more devious behind it. :P
haha Frances is my middle name :D
@LittleLynn84: It *is* a beautiful name. :)
@Hannah: That's a good point, although I was suggesting unconscious bias rather than necessarily conscious bigotry. She's clearly not consciously bigoted against trans* people
I don't know, but I a) like the end of this page (fun!) and b) like your little self-reference. :D
And that's that. Angry Jessica is still scary o_o
Bahahahahaha! I didn't notice the first time I read this page, but now I totally get it. ROFL! That was a really good self-insert! I like it!
This was too meta.
