Hm. I guess Emily called it...? >_>
Possibly one of my new favorite pages. I love drawing these kinds of things (although I think I need a lot more practice). ^_^
Buuuuut… good idea or bad idea?
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
Keep warm this Winter with a Pride scarf from the RainComicStore on Etsy
(Trans, Gay, Bi, Pan, Ace and Genderqueer now available! Others coming soon, and we're open to suggestion!)
Also, I'm saving for SRS, and to be perfectly honest, I could use your help! If you can, great. If not, don’t worry about it. I totally understand (you don't need to feel bad or apologize if you can’t).
It depends on the school. If this was a public one I don't think anybody would care about PDA....but this seems like a private school. Or are we talking about a different idea? And Smackjeeves does not like how I spelled PDA..nor does it like Smackjeeves.
I don't know if it was a good idea or not... but omg the noise I made when chanel finished Maria's sentence and then dove in for a hug :P
Bad idea. Chanel's little "I'm not worried at all because you're with me!", while utterly adorable and squeeworthy, really rings alarm bells about Maria's main reason for not wanting to go public. Next year, Maria WON'T BE THERE.
She could be planning to go to college on the other side of the country, or at the very least a few hours journey away. (Considering her parents, I would imagine she'd prefer not to live at home.) Even if she wasn't, Chanel is going to be alone AT SCHOOL. Which is when she's most likely to be teased.
We also don't know what measures their evil principal will be pushed to, but that's less of a "will this happen" and more of a "when will this happen". As more and more of the school show these "unacceptable behaviors", eventually the principal is going to snap and do something drastic to try and stamp it out.
Chanel will at least have Rudy in th school as an ally next year, but a) He's not in her year, so he'll only be around out of class time (and I think it was mentioned somewhere that their school has different lunch periods?)
b) She seems to be afraid of him. She's a little bit afraid of boys in general, but Rudy's loudness and wacky humour seem to make her nervous. (Or I could be reading too much into their few scenes together.)
c) Chanel doesn't know much about what "gay-bashing" at their school is like. Maria must have experienced at least a little first hand, and she's seen what happened to Rudy. Chanel will be facing up to three years of that without not only Maria's support but her PROTECTION. Even Todd Bitner was afraid of Maria, once Maria goes that scary guardian is gone. And I don't think Chanel even realises Maria counts as a scary guardian.
I can think of a few others, but their pretty minor, so I'll cut short the wall of text.
Tl;dr? It's a bad idea for a lot of reasons.
@Jaebird: I thought they're all the same age.. or did I miss something.
Is Maria older then everyone?
Actually, it's the other way around. Chanel is younger than everyone. She's a freshman (age 14 or so) whereas Maria is a senior (age 17).
Technically, I've never addressed this directly in canon, but the easy way to know the students' ages are the collars on everyone's uniform. Each represent a different grade.
Red - Freshman (includes Chanel and Brett)
Orange - Sophomore (includes Rudy)
Green - Junior (includes Ana and Todd)
Blue - Senior (includes Rain, Gavin, Maria, Emily, and pretty much every other major character)
Also, the Characters page lists everyone's age.
@LittleLynn84: Ohhh. Alright :P
Maria and Chanel just make me SO happy~ They remind me of me and the girl I like~ Switch the breast sizes and they'd look just like us! XD I swear, her personality is SO much like Chanel's too~ Adorable~ :D
Emily is a good friend :)
