Big stage-setting page for what's to come, that circles us back to the beginning of the chapter, and even references a big scene from a couple chapters ago, all while further developing Rain and Emily's somewhat ambiguous bond with each other. (Run-on sentence fragment!) But with all that said, there's one really big, specific question I want to ask.
So, exactly how crazy is this idea? XD
(Also, next update [August 15th] is the last one for this chapter. This will be followed by a two week hiatus. I know, I don't like it either, but it needs to happen. Posts will return with Chapter 23 on September 1st. I'll try to make sure you have some Rain Delays or other art in the mean time.)
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
And don't forget, Rain - Volume 1 and 2 are available at Lulu!

Doesn't seem all that crazy to me.
This. This ship. It just sails itself.
First, I am really a fan of Emily now. She keeps getting better. I don't ship her with Rain though. I do think she makes an awesome sister.
The anime convention? Bad bad idea. She has four tickets, better to use them with people who actually give a hoot about anime/manga. Her FRIENDS.
What do her real siblings think about anime/manga? Do they even know the subject? And how is this a chance to bond with or even talk to them in an unfamiliar and noisy setting?
No, it is just "here is another thing where we have nothing in common". Rain, please drop this idea and use this rare chance to have fun with real friends. You can meet up with siblings in a more controlled & relaxed environment any time.
And bring Emily. THAT part of the plan is a winner.
A non-geek at an anime convention? I'm looking forward to seeing that!
And, speaking as someone who's also a youngest of three who has grown up bonding over anime and manga with their siblings (at least, I'm assuming that's why Rain wanted to bring her siblings? I might be misremembering that, but I think that's what's going on here), I don't think Rain's idea is that far out. It'll be an opportunity for her and her siblings to share something they all love, after all. And in my experience, there always some quiet moments in cons inbetween the panels your group is interested in (though that somewhat depends on the size of the con).
@Nina: I feel the same.
I can totally see Emily and Rain together. They would make a great couple :)
I like it :) although I think I'd assumed Farah would be going to the con, does this mean she's not?
Haldo raises a good point about non-geeks at an anime con though :P
Edit: no Swiftkey, "geeks" was not meant to say "theist" -.-
I get that Rain wants Emily to be with her when she talks with her siblings, but why waste three tickets on people who aren't interested in anime/manga? And run the risk of having your fun day out ruined by unsupportive family? They should just go out somewhere else and then go to that con with friends.
On the other hand, if anything is going to change Kellen & Aiken's perspective, it'd be seeing Rain being all happy and fangirly at a con.
I wish I could plow through the next few pages right now, but I need sleep. However, I will say this: I've only found your comic early today, hours ago, nearly 24 hours ago, and I'm already on this page. That's gotta say something.
Rereading this page now that the convention has come and gone gives me all these extra emotions that I can't discuss properly without spoilers to everyone who's reading this for the first time. Beautiful work as always.
i dont regually follow that sort of thing why do you ask? cuz your in one bitch
