I've said this a couple times before, but people still ask, so I'm just going to reiterate: Winter Break is not the same thing as Christmas vacation. For me, in both my private and public school experience, there is a week long vacation that occurs sometime in the middle of February. Something, I guess, to break up the school year between Christmas vacation and Spring Break. Based on responses to this in the past, I guess it's not a thing everyone had. But I assure you, it's an actual thing that some schools just do.
Anyway, so the week long break begins... and flies by. I love doing these kinds of pages though. It might just be because I recently played Persona 4 Golden (and am currently playing DanganRonpa 2), but it reminds me of Social Links/Free Time watching Rain hanging out with her friends individually one day after another like this. XD
Sunday sees her with Ky alluding to a future meetup with Drew.
Monday, she and Gavin fail to beat Fighter Frogs again. What else is new, right?
Tuesday involves her and Chanel discussing favorite anime/manga. Maria meanwhile, can't help but be impressed that her two quietest friends are outtalking her. She's into it, but perhaps not quite to the level they are.
Wednesday is my favorite, because it marks the first time I've done something a little different depending on whether you're reading the comic on DeviantArt, SmackJeeves or Comic Fury (please note, if you're following the comic through Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr; you're reading the comic on DeviantArt). It's just a subtle difference. You won't be missing anything if you don't check out the other sites, but I've always wanted to do something like this since the very beginning, even if it's just this once. ^_^
Finally, we get to the inevitable slow day, which is in this case, Thursday. Just one of those days when all your other friends have something else going on (vacation homework, family matters, chores, etc). For Rain, that means a quiet day around the apartment, playing something on her Yuu Us, while the bunny climbs all over her. Oh, hey, I guess Jessica's home too.
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
Also, I've said this before, but I'm trying to raise money for SRS, and I'm still struggling with it. If you can help, it would be most welcome. If not, don’t worry about it. I totally understand (you don't need to feel bad or apologize if you can’t).
Wednesday is my favorite XD
OH MY GOSH I LOVE PERSONA 4
lol @ Snow
I just want you to know I only got three hours of sleep tonight, and it's all your fault!
Don't you know I've got to go to work early today? And here you are, creating a delightful webcomic that I simply couldn't STOP READING!
Well, at least I'm caught up, so I can read this at a slower pace... OOH, look! Comments!
In all seriousness, thanks for writing this, and thanks for Ky(lie). I'm in my forties, and I just recently learned that gender fluidity is a thing (in fact, trying to learn more about it was what lead me to your comic) and I feel like a missing puzzle piece has been found. Unlike him/her, I'm a tomboy and never feel the need to change how I dress, but it does explain why most of the time I'm comfortable with the body I was born in.
Ok, so i didnt sleep at all last night, but thats ok, because i just read all of your work in the space of 6 hours or so, and it was so worth it. And im glad i am caught up as it seems i am nearly in sync with Rains stage of transition. I am in therapy now and going to be starting HRT soon. YAY!!! gotta take each step as a victory! so i will certainly be checking in with you again soon to see this amazing and beautiful story unfold. I cant wait to see what will happen next.
So I'm transgender, like Rain, and my name is Snow.
So the comic for Wednesday made me smile like crazy. Well done.
@Snow: That's actually really awesome and a funny coincedence XD
Favorite comic page of Rain. I like to see your storytelling ability and art grow.
@Z: ...I feel like, somehow, you stole my name...
Any-smooze, Jocelyn, you sly dog. First your little cameo with Jessica, and now this? I'd be annoyed if I didn't love you for it! Keep up the excellent work. This is definitely in my "top five favorite web-comics" list. Although, the others are all on Tumblr and are ask blog comics, so I don't know if they count. There's "Ask Fluffle Puff and Chrissi", "Ask Lovestruck Derpy", "Ask Featherweight", and, another trans themed comic, "Coming Out of Your Shell".
Please note, all four of the others are MLP related, and I'm a huge brony, so saying as yours is the only non-MLP related content to make this list says a lot.
SlapJenkins has me in stitches right now.
