In today's random character cameos, we have three random nobodies in the first panel (the three non-cosplaying ones). Then there're two somebodies (the ones in cosplay with dialogue). They are Roland and Callista from a not too old fantasy epic of mine, Impure. Well, cosplayers dressed like them, anyway. I considered a few other characters from other stories for this bit, but I mostly went with them because of Callista in particular. I don't oft use the skimpy armor look for characters, but I happened to want to try it with her when designing her character a few years back. And when it came time for this con arc, her design felt necessary. Can't have a convention without some young lady in scantily clad cosplay, right?
Anyway, I don't know if lines for big events or high profile celebrities like this are common or rare, but I have heard stories about this kind of thing. Whatever the case may be, Rain wouldn't miss this chance for anything. And if it means not having to listen to Kellen for a few hours, neither would Emily. XD
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
Lulu.com is holding a sale from now through February 4th for 30% off all items, up to and of course including Volumes 1 and 2 of Rain. When you're ordering, just be sure to type GOPHIL into the Coupon Code box to apply the deal and get 30% off your purchase.
The general line to meet Billie Piper at Awesomecon 2014 had well over 150 people in it. I was able to get a VIP pass so I only had to wait behind 20 people to see her. VIP passes are a huge timesaver at cons.
Oh, they are very common for big celebrities. I waited in line to see Brent Spiner (who isn't even one of the big celebrities du jour right now) for four and a half hours. It was a small room, granted, but anyone who didn't get there about two hours beforehand didn't get in.
"Neither would Emily". Bwahahaha! Say it ain't so! Emily's definitely the best. Aiken's face in that last panel indicates quite clearly he's more inclined towards being the peacekeeper between Kellen and... all other people? No wonder, given her stubbornness and confrontational nature. He must have had a grand old time at school while they were growing up for sure.
@r4di4r: Keep in mind, Aiken's not exactly that close to Kellen, either. He's definitely on Rain's side, here.
I doubt that was the case when they were little, though. And being twins, unless their parents took the precaution to put them in different schools at least, they must have spent A LOT of time together.
I waited in a long line at Anime Central to get a ticket to the Nobuo Uematsu concert. SO FREAKING WORTH IT! :)
and i love the strip, and really appreciate the work you dp, and your new pic is absolutely hot. i liked the sketch you had up for a month or so as well, you look great.
@taryn: Ooh, I just noticed the new profile pic as well. It's cute, I like the hair.
I know that feeling when you really want to see someone at the con but there is a line like a mile long...they should take shifts waiting! <|:) Also it's good to get a break from the toxic abuse that Kellen is exuding. Also I like your new profile pic! You look adorable <|:)
lol, I know it well. Last time I tried to go to a con the queue to get *into* the venue was literally about half a mile long. Ended up not going in
Oh, crap, I just had a horrible thought, I *really* hope she doesn't turn out to be a transphobe or something after Rain had to wait all this time, on top of how excited she is and how much she's anticipated this
Or, maybe it'll end another way! Maybe she'll be Trans, herself. I've always had this thought when they first mentioned her, for some reason.
Koizumi Chiaki is the Rainverse alter-ego of our esteemed author herself, so not likely to be a *phobe.
