Just in case you didn't get enough phone action from the last update. XD
And while we're waiting for the next update, let's reflect once more on Chase. Is it necessarily bad if he knows Emily's pregnant? Is there a chance this news could turn him into a responsible father figure? If so, what would that mean for Emily?
Alternately, what if he doesn't want this responsibility? Would he skip town to avoid being roped into child support? Would he try to push Emily into terminating the pregnancy? Is there a chance he could become dangerous?
I am aware that there's not enough information to say anything for sure. I'm just interested in hearing your initial gut reaction to all of this.

"Somewhat unpredictable" really did not leave a good impression on me.. I hope he doesn't try to get in the way of her pregnancy. Actually, if he could just be pushed to another town and disappear it would be great, lol! (Of course he could be a supporting parent, but I don't really expect that from what we've seen so far)
I highly doubt that Chase would make a responsible father figure. Especially as Emily really has no interest in letting him back in her life even if he wanted to try. My guess would be that he'll quietly provide child support and otherwise try and be involved as little as possible. He's not exactly the responsible type.
He might try and pressure Emily into getting an abortion (or putting the baby up for adoption). I'd imagine that he sees a baby as an inconvenience that is fairly easy to get rid of, and wouldn't understand at first that Emily doesn't see it the same way.
as much as i don't like Aiken's actions, i do think that he was ignorant and didn't know how to respond to the situation. i really hope that he patches things up with jess, or at least apologizes to her.
at this point in the story is chase still living rent free in his parents home? if so, where are his parents?
A thought has just crossed my mind. If the students can dye their hair I take it that apply to teachers as well. So how can Fara have red hair?
@00Stevo: Fara's openly bi. She doesn't care about any freaking hair rules!
@Zack: "SCREW THE RULES, I HAVE GREEN HAIR!"
@TallMist: You are cool and so are your references
If the faculty can't tell, they can't really get on her case about it. Let's hypothetically say a naturally blonde student dyes her hair black before enrolling at St. Hallvard. If her hair remains black the whole time she's there, the school really wouldn't be any the wiser.
Also, I've found most places that frown on dye jobs are specifically frowning on unnatural colors (like green, blue, or purple hair). If it's kept within a natural spectrum of hair colors, it is acceptable. And while certain shades of red don't naturally occur, I feel like reds get a lot of leeway.
In short, the school doesn't know/care. Fara's hair is normal enough.
She is WAY too far into her pregnancy to be able to get an abortion... unless he stabbed her in the uterus or she had a miscarriage or an abortion due to the fetus having complications (otherwise they won't do it).
I'm with Fara here: everything we know so far about Chase is a pretty dismal recommendation for his capacity to be a good father (or a good human, for that matter). As I recall, a good example of his "thriving on chaos" would be the party... remember when he started passing out alcohol to a bunch of underage kids because he was bored?
"He practically thrives on chaos."
Well, he certainly looks like his middle name could be Mefisto or something, so him leaning to the chaotic side wouldn't surprise anyone. That getup he wore on Halloween real fit him.
It feels like this story is beginning to...take off!
Get it? Because it's comic number 747? And a significant plot point was just dropped?
...I'll get my coat.
P.S. I personally also thrive on chaos, but at least I'm very considerate of other people. Like my friend told me, she loves that I'm such an inveterate troll while remaining kind and considerate of others feelings.
In other words, I'd never hurt someone (intentionally) with my trolling. And if I'd accidentally hurt someone I would apologize.
