Ah~! Vincent said the name of the chapter! XD
Love, trust, and respect are going to be pretty common themes throughout this chapter. I mean, they're significant to the story as a whole, but I want you to really be on the lookout here. We're going to be seeing a lot of examples and challenges to each of these before we're done. And have I mentioned that this chapter is insanely long? XD
Although this week's pages were mostly just stage setting, there's a lot of interesting stuff here too. Like, how Fara and Vincent neither confirmed nor denied that they were together. Or how Aiken asked about the compatibility of cis and trans people at all.
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
At long last, Rain - Volume 3 is finally available for purchase!
Also, don't forget to Like Rain on Facebook if you can/want!
And if you don't mind, voting for Rain on TopWebComics helps me a lot too!
Yeah, I'm not sure if Aiken thought he was being subtle with that question, but he was not being subtle with that question.
Aiken's smile in those last two panels is just... perfect. He's such a good character. His journey from transphobic jerk to supportive older brother is so realistic. Jess would not be beyond her rights to never want to see him again- but I do hope she at least has the chance to see how much he's grown.
Please for the love of God let Jessica see how Aiken has changed!!
I hope that Jessica is able to forgive Aiken, but I kinda feel like they shouldn't get back together. That level of hurt can't be forgotten. If it were me, even though I'd see that he'd changed, I wouldn't be able to forgive him.
But I'm also cisfemale, and I'm not one to really put myself in Jessica's position.
@Lenn: I agree. While I'd like to see them reconcile and become friends again, Aiken has crossed a line that just isn't something that you can go back to a romantic relationship after.
You know, I really like Aiken now that he's trying to make amends and accepted his little sibling for who she is.
I caught up! It took me a month, but I FINALLY caught up with re-reading! :D I've left comments all over the place now :p
Jocelyn, thank you so much for the amazing comic. I love everything about Rain LGBT ^_^
Lastly, Volume 3 arrived a few days ago, and it is really really great! The bonus chapter is awesome and the book is a lot larger than I thought it would be. It's really nice~
I'm starting to like Vincent a lot.
And that's a lot to say considering I don't normally like psychologists.
@LittleLynn84: This story ark is very interesting. I look forward to more. Was well worth the long wait.
at least one of rain's sibs is finally getting a clue x 4 over the head and accepting it. the other just needs a 2x4 over the head and put out of her misery -.-
@Dzaka: I say we give Kellen a few more appearances. Let's not forget how bad Aiken was. She was just as bad and the only thing she did worse, which is admittedly VERY BAD, was cutting Rain's hair. While unforgivable, there's every chance she could turn around like Aiken has. Sadly, though, I've seen more females be transphobic and anti-LGBT+ than males. IDK the real statistics on that, though, so I'm going off personal experience, but if it's any indication, there's not much faith to be had. I say give her another appearance or arc or two before deciding whether she should be killed off or not.
@TallMist: not killed... just.. hit with a blunt object till she gained some sense :3
@Dzaka: Either would satisfy me, as long as it's slow and painful
I'm really liking the turn around that Aiken has made.
just echoing what some others have already said, but: i would love to see aiken and jessica reconcile, if not become friends, but i definitely don't think they can go back to being in a healthy romantic relationship again-- 'healthy' being the operative word.
i can definitely imagine a fling (though i don't expect it at all), but aiken violated jessica's trust in such a way that i don't see them ever being on 100% level ground again.
just my two cents, though
@agreement: To be fair, he did the same to Rain and now they're back on even footing. I know it's not the same as reconciling an actual romantic relationship, but it's not too far off.
I love this- thank you for your wonderful series <3
