Late to the bandwagon, but I did Undertale fanart.
Firstly, in case you didn't catch it in the image, please don't spoil anything in the comments. I take spoilers very seriously and I will start deleting comments at the first sight of them. But please don't make me have to do that. ^_^
The spoiler thing is important though, because I've never technically played this game (I don't normally like gaming on my computer). But I did happen upon the demo the other day and finally decided to at least try that. I was... immediately in love. The atmosphere, the music, the characters (the demo consisted only of those in the image)... just everything captivated me right off. I laughed. I cried (twice). My mind was blown a little. And that's just from the half hour demo.
So even though I was previously content to dodge spoilers while waiting for a console version (which, to my understanding, could very well never happen), I'm kind of invested now. I know I'm going to have to give in and play this real soon. But for now, I really need to focus. Thing is, it's so in my head right now.
Hence the fanart. When I get a new story idea that I don't want to work on right away, I tend to draw the lead character(s) to clear my head so I can return my attention to the comic. It usually works. So let's see if it works with other people's stories too. XD
As for the art itself, I primarily used sprites from the demo as reference for the characters (and a screenshot for the background). For the most part, Toriel, Flowey, and Napstablook are pretty directly how they appear in the game. The player character (whom I named "Lynn"; I don't know what their actual name is if they have one) has a little bit of artistic license. I'm to understand that the player character's age, gender and ethnicity was left purposely ambiguous so the player can insert themselves in whatever way makes them most comfortable. So OF COURSE my head canon of the protagonist is a little trans girl (would you expect anything else from me?). XD
Anywho, eventually I'll actually play this. And when I do, there's a good chance I'll draw more. But for now, just a cute, little pic and back to Rain!
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOI-*shot*
Although to be fair, I wouldn't mind any alcoholic beverages, as long as they hit the spot by knocking out all the worries.
HOLY FUCK UNDERTLE YESSSSSSSSSS
The entire game filled me with feels, its like an anime in a game format.
You don't mind if I share some of my Fav art/fan made stuff, right?? (please)

Eeep! I love undertale! Thank you so much for drawing this! Its beautiful!
@Microrapter: it's an indie game from last year where you play as a small child who is trying to escape the land of monsters. Despite the simple premise, it is an enthralling game and it will be very easy for you to find people to sing its praises. It was inspired by Earthbound and is made very much in the same style, so if you love that game you'll LOVE Undertale.
@RFZ: Never played Earthbound- never had a Super Nintendo.
Is this game on Steam or what?
@Microrapter: Yeah, it's on Steam. Ten dollars, a price that is definitely worth it.
Also, don't forget the Homestuck inspirations ^_^; The creator, Toby Fox, is part of MS Paint Adventure's Music Contribution Team, which also means he's a pretty amazing musician :p
Oh, also, you should probably play Earthbound, Microraptor!
@Maplestrip: Maybe I'll get on it after I finish all of the different Shadowrun titles.
Very good choice, Jocelyn; Undertale is an amazing game :3 I'm curious to hear your opinions after you play it!
One of the things I like about Undertale is that, indeed, the player character's age, gender and ethnicity are completely ambiguous. However, the gender-neutral pronoun usage of "they" makes it very easy to create non-binary headcanons :3
A friend of mine presented the theory that because humans are such oddities to the monsters, they aren't sure what gender the main character is and just say "they" as a result (and the main character just doesn't bother correcting them). XD
Either way, I think the freedom of interpreting their identity in whatever way we wish is a nice change of pace. It's actually an impressive stride forward from games that make players select male OR female at the beginning. I mean, I'm always content to pick female myself, but I totally feel for the NB gamers out there.
Having just started for real last night, I maintain my personal headcanon of the little trans girl heroine. She's being called "they" a bunch and just thinking, "Well, at least it's not 'he'." XD
@LittleLynn84: Of course, this makes it *hilarious* when people go off on you for 'misgendering' them. I can see why it happens, but the character is carefully designed and written so almost all players just assume their gender matches their own.
Have fun. The game is exactly as nice and lighthearted as you make it.
- reading this comic.. restores 150 hp and fills you determination-
Yeah, undertale is great. Also, I wouldn't hold my breath about a console version. The way undertale was made, along with some of its... Less obvious aspects make it really hard to port. However, it doesn't actually require a particularly powerful PC, so so long as you were able to run the demo, you should be able to run the full game.
@FrostingFlames: If your pc can run facebook games, undertale should be fine XD
