There is a lot to take from this page, and yet so much I can't say. But how do you feel about this? Did Emily handle this well or not so much? Should she have spoken to him directly? She seemed careful, but is there a chance anyone overheard?
And what about Chase himself? How do you imagine he'll respond to this voicemail?
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
As you may probably know by now, I'm saving up for my (hopefully) upcoming SRS date in a few months. If you're able, you can help me out. Buying books, or shirts, or just plain donations are all very helpful right now. Obviously, if you are unable to or don't want to offer anything monetary, that's totally fine and I completely understand. There are other ways you can help. Like voting for Rain on TopWebComics or joining/sharing the Facebook page (or even just telling your friends!) can help spread the word about my work. Thanks for anything you can do; no hard feelings if you can't. ^_^
OKAY I REAAAAALLLLLLYYYY WANT THIS STORY TO MOVE FORWARD! YAY FOR DRAMA!
eee I'm so proud of Emily! She's gonna be such a great mom.
She managed to say all that before the second "BEEEP."? :o
I don't know if what she said was a great idea. I don't know if Chase is going to let this go.as for the friends they did not hear. guaranteed .
Interesting comment about Chase's family. I wonder what they're like and if they'll show up in the future.
Chase won't respond positively. At all. He's not a good person, he cannot be reasoned with, he's going to come after Emily. That's just what I believe will happen
Chase has come across as a bit maniuplative before, someone who always has an agenda. So, based on dealings like that in my life, I'm going to guess he flatly won't believe "I don't want anything from you, not even your money." Maybe he'll see it as a gambit in some nefarious scheme to get his money, maybe he'll think she's pushing him away because she's got something better lined up but he won't think calmly "Well, that's alright then."
Yeaaahhh... I don't see Chase taking this well either. I don't see him as the type to shrug and say "okay then, I'll let you live your life." Maybe I'm just jaded from my line of work; seeing so many issues with guys who feel they have to control women ... I don't see him letting go that easily.
As for her friends. Even if they overheard part of it, hopefully they'll be friends enough to keep it to themselves. But from the way the page was drawn, it appears to me that Holly and Debbie walked up after she finished leaving the message. And even if they heard the tail end of it, it would just sound like Emily just cutting him loose.
The plot thickens...
