I know what I said about trying not to do two-pagers in this chapter. Sometimes, it's inevitable. XD
Emily going straight to the faculty could be a big deal. Brother Arthur has proven to be very reliable thus far, but I wonder how he'd respond to this. And of course, he wouldn't be the only one that needs to learn...
Maria, meanwhile - for having known about this just as long as Rain has - seems to be taking the news rather hard. But why? Is it just because Emily's been quiet about it all this time? That can't be right. There's got to be more to it. Thoughts?
Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.
Also, our source of transportation for my SRS date bailed on us unexpectedly, leaving us with a short span of time to come up with fair bit more money than we anticipated needing. I'm stressed enough without this kind of garbage, but my superhero of a wife came to the rescue by setting up a YouCaring page for me. If you can spare a little bit to help out, we'd be eternally grateful. If not, just sharing the page and spreading it around would still mean the world to us. Thank you so much!
My thoughts are bonus chapter spoilers >.<
Why not have said it earlier? A few more weeks of people treating her like hell, or many months of it... makes sense to me.
Emily just said "my ex". Could Maria be wondering if it's her? She could be trans herself, and a lot of trans girls won't use their junk sexually but a lot will and for that matter a lot who won't have at least tried it. Or she could just have misconceptions about how reproduction works, I mean she's at a Catholic school that's stifling even by Catholic school standards
@Allie: This is just a guess, but if Maria was trans, I think that a) Rudy would know, b) she would have told Rain, c) there is no chance in hell that her parents would let her actually live as her chosen gender, d) Maria and Emily did not have sex when they were together, and e) even if they did, Maria would not expect a pregnancy started early in high school to come to term now.
You get points for a great and exceptionally creative theory, though!
@Arcanist Lupus: all good points :P
I think in a way, Emily had just chased down her own inner demons here and then completely honest has destroyed them
and Maria finally had to swallow her own pride when he came to Emily the longest time she's painting her as a villain, especially how their relationship ended. Emily Pointed out here Maria is been the same boat with her lying or being dishonest to keep up an image.
Maria finally forgiven Emily for their previous disagreements. And now realizing Maria has to make amends and be there for Emily
I protect what happens next page with Maria will probably do something amazing in regards to Emily situation and the others in general
Thoughts on Maria:
It's been several months now since Maria first found out. In that time, she's been feeling hurt and scared. Hurt, because it hurts when someone you care about isn't willing to confide in you, and while they weren't on the best of terms, Maria still cares about Emily (and vis versa). And scared, because it's a scary thing that Emily is facing and Maria is empathetic enough to be scared for her, and Maria doesn't have anyone to talk to to deal with these fears.
And above all it hurts, because if Maria had stayed Emily's friend, had been there for her, then she might not have made the choices that led to her sleeping with Chase. And yes, Emily is the one who pushed Maria away, and there's no way to truly know what might have happened, but these sorts of feelings aren't rational.
And now Emily is facing the full attention of the school, students and administration. There's a good chance of her being expelled, making the friendship that Maria and Emily are carefully rebuilding that much harder. And there's very little that Maria can do to help her.
But very little is not nothing.
The scene will likely cut away after this, maybe to Ana. I wonder if we'll see Marcus Flaherty in this chapter?
