Hey~! It's everyone's favorite character! I know how much you've all been clamoring for more Kellen in the story. XD
Snarkiness aside, this page (and the next) were originally planned for next week. We were originally gonna switch back to Rain here, but I didn't want to line up the most disliked character so closely with the holidays. I feel like antagonist pages always seem to go up on or around Christmas, so I switched the order of scenes a little. It's purely coincidental, but it bothers me. XD
Anyway, whether you outright hate her or just passively tolerate her, Kellen makes an appearance for the first time in quite a while. But why? Apparently, she has "things" to do. What things do you suppose she's referring to?
Also, Aiken's here too. ;P

Now is good time to update the Kellen article(http://rain-web-comic.wikia.com/wiki/Kellen) on the Wikia community. Just try to keep the Kellen hate to the comments.
I was wondering, could rain possibly get hair extensions? just something out of curiosity :P
@Maim: She could, but IIRC Emily liked how she looked with short hair so she probably won't.
Kellen's self-involved opinions are one thing, but she has such complete disregard for everyone's feelings. One of my biggest pet peeves is the statement, "I'm sorry you feel that way", but Kellen either doesn't realize or doesn't care that other people have feelings at all.
Kellen doesn't ever have to understand, although that would be nice, but it would be something if she could show the slightest glimmer of empathy. This is in no way a criticism of Jocelyn, but of Kellen herself- who is very real in my head and very annoying.
Kellen just lost much of the (little) remaining sympathy I had for her.
Male-gendering Rain makes some sense psychologically* -- she grew up with boy-Ryan, found out very suddenly about girl-Rain after it was a "done deal" (as opposed to Fara who Rain probably confided in while she was still passing as male), is having trouble reconciling this new person with her idea of "baby bro", etc etc.
But male-gendering Jessica, who she's only ever known as female -- that's just cruel and spiteful.
* Not saying I agree with it or that it was acceptable for her to behave the way she did, just that it makes sense.
@Leah: I don't think you could say that Rain was ever "Ryan" or a "Boy". Trans people are trans their whole lives. I also have to wonder how you could have any sympathy, regardless of how little, for Kellen after she flat out assaulted her own sister and treated her like shit all because of her own transphobic views.
@TallMist: That's not really the point Leah was trying to make. It's not that Rain was ever a boy, it's that Kellen knew her as a boy. Changing your mental image of someone takes some effort, and Kellen has so far been unwilling to make that effort.
However, she's only ever known Jessica as a woman, so in misgendering her, she's actually making the effort of changing her mental image of Jessica out of spite. It would literally require less effort on her part to just keep referring to Jessica as a woman.
Wonder what kind of stuff. Fighting for custody of rain maybe. Or maybe talking to her school? Would kellen out her to strangers to attempt and make her back out of transitioning?
@Mlatu: I wouldn't put it past her.
I really wish Kellen would just disappear. There is no hope for redemption left in her. She's 1,000 times worse than Aiken was during the Christmas chapter and that is saying a lot. Kellen straight up assaulted her sister and now she's misgendering people she doesn't even know out of spite. She's such an ass and everytime I see her, I get physically ill. I guess that means the author of this comic did a good job creating this villain, but I hope she never planned a redemption arc for Kellen, because what she did was unforgivable.
@TallMist: I'd like to see her get a redemption denied arc where she realizes that she's a total ass, has zero friends, and will never be trusted by anyone ever again.
We had better watch the scissor drawer.
Going for the "Complete Monster" track are we?
It would have been funnier if Aiken was searching for a date for Kellen, but now I think Kellen is trash and she doesn't deserve to be loved until she learns to love. Anyway, it would be scary if Kellen does something like contact her dad and make sure they can ruin Rain's life. Kellen would have to say good bye to her redemption if she does something as awful as reveal Rain's secret to everyone in school, or to take Fara's custody away. Fara is a known bisexual, is in a relationship with a trans man, and allows Rain to be herself. Kellen can go full villainy mode if she wanted to.
She's going to a "Justice for Kim Davis" rally.
