Er-hem. I think that went over well. XD
Did you expect it? I mean, that does seem rather unusual for Rain. Also, good idea? Bad idea? I mean, no one else in this "queer band of misfits" has phased Ana yet, so why should this be any different, right?
And yet, what is that reaction?

That's gotta be a "HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY BE SO OPEN AND CASUAL ABOUT IT, IT TOOK ME YEARS TO TELL PEOPLE!!" reaction
Ana's reaction is definitely shock, but the bigger question is who else in the school has overheard, and what trouble is that going to bring to our young protagonist....
OMG OMG OMG I LEGIT SCREAMED OMG I CANT WAIT FOR FRIDAY NOW!!!!!!!
Heck yeah Rain! I'm glad she's gotten so confident.
I'm shocked by this. I'd have expected Rain to wait until she knew Anna better, or at least was unlikely to be overheard.
Either way, good for Rain, being brave.
Rain should be careful who she tells her secret. Ana may accept queer people, but she clearly has some problems related to trans people. I know she is trans, and a female Handsome Jack, but she has stated that she hoped Rain isn't trans.
@TranshumanAr: I took it as "I hope she's not trans, because as I am trans myself, I know how horrible and difficult it is and I wouldn't wish the challenges I've faced on anyone."
@Dawn: I hope this development doesn't cause Rain problems.
Uh... I think you broke her.

"And yet, what is that reaction?"
I don't think it's shock ...
See the Archive for the strip from June 23, 2016.
Holy Christ! Rain said the thing!
*blink* That was bold of her, albeit risky...
Did NOT see that coming at all! More power to ya, Rain!
Its kinda cool to see how easy going Rain is at telling people about her being trans now.
Oh my god (0-0)
Bad idea, Rain. A school cafeteria is not such a great place to come out to someone. And from experience, it's better to wait until people know you at least a little before you tell them. If you don't, you risk being put in their mental "male" category (with a note "trans" stuck to it), or at best their "trans" category (with a note "female" stuck to it). Whereas if you wait, you'll be safely in their mental "female" category (with a note "trans" stuck to it). Might not make a big practical difference if they make the effort, but even well-intentioned people don't make that effort all the time (like when they're stressed or distracted).
Thats exactly what i would do! Thats what I've done for the past 5 months of school!
I expected it, but was still shocked it happened, because I didn't expect it to happen like that.
There is a downside to this though. Depending on how Ana reacts, Gavin could wind up being clued in on Ana and, let's face it, he wouldn't take it very well.
But I think the upside here HEAVILY outweighs the downside in this moment and that my prediction is more than likely not going to come true.
Brave move girl! Proud of ya <3
The plot thickens
But seriously, a school cafeteria? Pardon my French, but word spreads faster in a lunchroom than flies flock to shit.
But, you did not use any French in your post. I am confused.
I started reading this webcomic about 5 days ago and I'M FINALLY UP TO DATE!
I absolutely love it...keep it up!
