Yesterday I spent a rather absurd amount of time reorganizing my DeviantArt gallery. This might not matter to a lot of you here, but if you were interested to see a lot of my non-Rain work, that'd usually be where to do it. To be honest, it still kinda looks like a mess. But I guess that's to be expected when you've got well over 2,000 submissions (more than half of which, being the comic, or at least related to it). Still, it's nicer now than it was, with updates to the sub-gallery folder covers, and I now have one sub-gallery for Older Stuff, so that pre-Rain art can be found without having to sift through seven years of comic pages. XD

As an update to my gallery cleanup yesterday, today I changed some gallery covers again to something nicer, and added a few for stories that didn't previously have their own galleries. I've also included a placeholder for my second comic (just a little "MW" for now, as I haven't formally announced it yet). I'll probably start setting up another comic here on SmackJeeves for that too pretty soon. ;P

Again, probably none of that matters to you if you're not following me on DeviantArt, but it did mean some new art. And it feels good to see all the gallery covers lined up like this, so I wanted to share.

It also feels good to flex out and work with stories and characters I haven't been able to focus on in a long time. I'm starting to suspect at least part of my current depression is stemming from burnout with Rain. I mean, doing almost anything for nearly seven years, burnout is probably inevitable.

But please don't take that to mean I'm throwing in the towel. Rain will continue toward a proper ending as was originally planned. Drawing, writing, and generally thinking about other things for at least a little while is helping clear my head a bit though. And when I am ready to finally start the second comic to go up alongside Rain, I think that will help too. While it'll technically be more work, I believe alternating between two very different stories will help prevent either one from growing too stagnant for me.

So again, thank you for bearing with me through all this. I'm hoping to reward everyone's patience with some great content when I can finally get past this thing. ^_^

You still have it the wrong way around ... thank you for the gift of Rain and all it's taken over the last seven years to do it.

....okay, I was going to keep this entirely supportive, but now I have this -hilarious- mental image of Rain characters in DBZ outfits, with Rain using a Spirit Bomb forged from all of your fans. XD

The only Good ending is the Finale of a story. Pace yourself however you want/feel/need to reach that goal, and don't worry about the rest of us! We're happy to be along for the ride!

...as an aside... I'm actually trying to pluck up the courage to start dating again, and finding myself now looking at a, shall we say, wider variety of girls than I once might have... I don't think I'd have seen myself become -that- open minded if I'd noticed myself in the past.

So I'd like to thank you for being a fun source of entertainment and learning, in regards to that part of my own development.

I decided to look at Lavander Town these past couple nights. I really enjoyed reading up to the last chapter posted. Is there more planned for it in the future? Anyway, can't wait to see you coming back better!

@LittleLynn84:
At first I would like to thank you for the rain comic, You are doing a great job, I'm completely addicted to it.
In the time inbetween ( well just yesterday) I've read Lavender, I love it, was it ment to end like that or were there more chapters to come?

@Elise:

Lavender was not meant to end there. There's actually a fair bit more I wanted to do with it. Unfortunately, I just kept never getting around to it.

I do plan on getting back to at some point. Hopefully sooner than later, but I can't say for sure exactly when.

You made a name for Something Dark. Id just assumed you were making and ironic joke/genius bonus reference the only Rain readers would get.

And it is ridiculously edgy. Perfect for the part!

@Le Fou:

Funny enough, I just really had no idea what to call it. Every title I came up with, I just hated, but I knew the story would be dark, so I just started calling it "something dark" as kind of in-joke to myself. I did not anticipate it'd take to another 2-3 years for me to come up with actual title though. XD

I feel like The Scars of Redemption is a wee bit campy, but I'm not against a little camp. And really, I kinda needed to call it something before I actually started writing it and legit ended up calling it "something freaking dark". XD

@Guest:

Of all the stories above, only Magical and "MW" are currently planned as webcomics when they start. The former won't start until Rain is done. The latter, I'll hopefully be announcing soon and will go up alongside Rain.

Lavender is prose, but you can read what's currently available here. ^_^
https://jocelynsamara.deviantart.com/gallery/60136/Lavender

And although you didn't ask, I'll fill in the blanks for the rest if anyone's curious. Impure and The Scars of Redemption are also planned as prose, but are not yet started. Meanwhile, Shangri-La and Save the Princess are game ideas (the former of which, has a playable, if somewhat dated, demo).
