I dunno. Maybe this is a little redundant or unnecessary to say, but I really wanted to share. :)

This brought tears to my eyes ... truly. I love your work Jocelyn, I love your characters and the story. So, to read this, for me, just connects me more with "Rain". Thank you so much for sharing this with us and sharing your story and so much of yourself as we've gone along.

Binge-worthy

Oh, I had planned to comment that this hiatus has given me the chance to binge on Rain in preparation for the new chapters. So, over the past couple of days I re-read the first 4 books and am now picking up from where #4 leaves off and going through the archives.

I had forgotten a few details ...

I went to college with an amateur comic author (in the 1980s he was considered so). I devoured his art as fast as he could produce it, I never could get enough. Now he is an acclaimed Sci-Fi author, and doing well for himself. My dear wife has published fantasy/adventure novels...

You've got good plot and character development, and good continuity. I see greatness in your efforts.

It's really hard to work as a creator of stories and get money from it, but if you dedicate yourself to get cool skills and a good portfolio you can make your career work. Of course you have to be realistic about what you can do with your resources, but never conform to something you don't like unless you don't have other option. There's no shame in doing mundane jobs while practicing for being an artist... but I still depend on my parents, so all the epic stuff I said is questionable... Just be happy and make other people happy with your work.

@LittleLynn84: Shirobako sounds like the anime version of Bakuman (or the other way around, dunno which came first). I definitely recommend reading or watching Bakuman if you haven't already. Its two highschoolers trying to become mangakas and it goes through the same themes you describe.
