Guest Rain Delay, by the very talented Maddie AKA GenericBunnyGirl, who's responsible for the webcomic, Least Likely Magical Girl. She's offered to do a short series of strips for me to share with you during my hiatus, and as a fan of her work myself, I'm very excited to see where it goes. I hope you'll all enjoy it too! ^_^

Fun fact: Rudy's name actually is supposed to be short for Rudolph. There was a one-time gag I had planned for it back during the Christmas arc, but it didn't really fit anywhere and obviously never happened. Somehow this got brought up in talks between Maddie and I, and I'm amused and delighted to have this info see the light of day. And there you have it, even in a Rain Delay - written and drawn by someone else - you're still able to learn canon new things about the characters. XD

Maria's name IS Maria though; no other variant will do. Calling her character "Mary" is just a typical case of Rudolph being Rudolph. ;P

Anyway, you should all check out Maddie's comic too:

Could someone please tell me what a stoic is in d&d?

@Guest: It's not a class or anything. I don't think it's anything in D&D at all, just a word used to describe Maria's character.

They were so close to reaching a consensus of "NO!" until Rain.
...But if they did, we wouldn't have a story.

@Sherri:
Considering it's the cleric class, Rain would do the job of a healer with divine powers which honestly fits her character of being the "heart" of her group of friends, like Steven Universe.

The fact that the players refuse to have Rudy as the dungeon master proves that they know something is off.

Also, at least Rudy made them characters for a quick game. Each D&D character takes like an hour to make with all the stats, items for the beginning of the party, class selection, background story, etc.

Hey, this doesn't have much to do with this panel specifically but I just wanted to say this. This webcomic has helped me so much through finding myself, and the struggles of being trans. It's helped me through some really tough times, and I can't thank you enough for that. Seriously, having a story which is somewhat like our own which we can read and relate to is really something that matters a lot.
For an example of how this has helped me with things, a couple days after I came out to my grandmother, she said to me "I'm sorry if I get things wrong. I suppose that I am still, on the inside, feeling some sense of loss over Joseph, because even though you are still who he was, you aren't fully him. Though I will support you through this, even if it means that I'm losing my grandson, I'm helping my granddaughter be happy"
Immediately after this conversation, I realized that she was reacting in a very similar way to how Gavin reacted. And, while before she had said this I was scared that she wouldn't feel comfortable with me and that we were going to drift apart, I knew then that things would turn out alright in the end.
This webcomic has helped me in so many ways like this, and has given me something to feel really, truly happy over. So thank you for sharing this story with the world, I know that there are others whose hearts have been touched just as much if not more than mine through this. So thank you from the bottom of my heart

Yeah! What she said! You've made hundreds, maybe even thousands of people's lives so much better, whether through making the bad times easier to bear, education, or just giving us something spectacular and delightfully beautiful to enjoy. I myself am a mix of the latter two, but I know that when a lot of my friends were suffering, it really helped to know that this comic was there for their questions and comfort. So, from the bottom of my heart as well, Thank you so much, Jocelyn, for all you do for us. I would not be where I am right now without this masterpiece, and I know many others might not be here at all. So, uh, thanks!!!

OMG! I already really love how this is playing out so far. Anywho... I like this Rain Delay because the characters we all know and love, are having mixed emotions about this game. Only because Rudy is Dungeon KEEPER/MASTER. But my all time favorite part about this particular page is that, both Maria and Gavin are like No Way and Rain's like Welp If There's Kaminari I'm All In. AND I THINK ITS HILARIOUS i love this Rain Delay soooooooooo freakking much. Also i was just thinking Jocelyn have you ever considered trying to get some kind of deal or smething to create an actual RainLGBT short film thing? IDK its not exactly realistic but it would be cool if you could try. Right?
