While Emily and Chanel are away talking and doing whatever else, let's shift our focus back to Rain, Allison, and Ana, as they continue to talk prom. This time, instead of the dress, they talk crowns. ^_^

Not much I want to add here. I'd be more curious to hear your thoughts.

Rain, all characters and all other aspects of the story are copyright material belonging to me.

Anyway, I kinda hate plugging, but If you're interested in getting Volumes 1-4 of Rain for yourself (or someone else; holidays are coming up), now's a good time for it. Lulu has a pretty sweet sale going on. Just use the coupon code BLACKFRIDAY25 at checkout for a whopping 25% off any or all the books. ^_^

Oh, and if you can't afford it or already have it or something, that's fine too. You can still show some support by spreading the word. :)

Last Sale on Rain Books

reply

If you still want any or all of the Rain books (for yourself or as a gift for someone else), the deal for Cyber Monday might be just what you've been waiting for. Just use the coupon code CM35 at checkout in order to save a whopping 35% on all the books. This is today only.

Just check out the store to find them: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/LittleLynn84

Also, this is probably my last plug for now. I always feel weird about doing this kind of thing, but it helps me out a lot so I do what I can. Thank you for putting up with me through these past few days, and especially thank you if you bought any of the books. If you can't or don't want to buy the books, but still want to show support, you can always spread this message around so that maybe someone else will. ^_^

I never went to my prom due to being poor and being a neurotic POS due to 'teenage shows' that always depicted how bad the prom experience could be so as much as I love ya Lynn I'm hoping you don't do anything to scary with your babies i'm getting a way to intense 'calm before the storm' vibe eek.
Well whatever you do I'll still love you keep up the great work Lynn <3 <3 <3

P.S. First Nyeh heh heeeeeh

I don't know if all schools do this, but my school has a prom prince and princess (basically junior year equivalents), and maybe Allison could win that!

I was bored at my prom. All I wanted was to eat something and get out to enjoy my summer vacations.

isn't rain going signed up under her deadname to help chanel get in?

I can definitely see uhhh problems arising if a lot of kids there choose her as prom royalty, bc I'm p sure the organizers will notice 'oh there isn't a Rain signed up but there's someone with a similar name maybe this is a nickname or a misspelling?' and announce her as prom *king*.

*that* would be hard to deal with for anyone.

Did anyone point out the double "is" in Rain's second-to-last panel? I'm guessing that's a bit of a typo - my OCD won't let me NOT notice them, I swear - but much as I hate to make my first comment on this amazing comic a kind of negative message without going over how awesome the story & characters are, I just want to point it out in case the creator herself is as much of a perfectionist as I am. ^^;

Oh, but I can point out that Emily looked strangely adorable last week's page when thrown by Chanel's knowledge of her previous relationship, & note today that I'm hoping someone else NOT trans was made Queen, because yeah, cool as that may be, "Carrie" comes to mind about all the horrible things that could happen up on that stage in front of the whole school... That's why I voted for Holly myself. (OnO)

Not a comment on the prom thing but now it's grown out that tiny bit, Rain's hair is so freakin' cute!

"Prom? Do they still do that?"

reply

TBH, at the time (1986), I was appalled that proms were even still a thing at all, and wanted nothing to do with it.

I find it even more discouraging to see that this apparently still happens. What year is this, 1958?

Just to REALLY age myself; I didn't go to my high school prom either ... in 1974. I was not one of the "in" crowd and more of a nerd than would be popular back then. Plus, I basically have as much ability to dance as a drunken water buffalo ... ;)

Wow this looks like a nice comic, I like how LGBT is being more spread throughout the worldwide interweb community. Here at my middle school, couples are starting to forme, & I like the feeling of all the discrimination just being blown away. Makes me feel alone though. Heck, what do I know, I’m only 13. Welp, doesn’t matter. But other then that I'll be checking from now on because this looks like a great comic to read!

@Schol-R-LEA & @Barn0wl: I hear you. Seems like I’m not the oldest reader here (what a relieve). Prom is not that common here in Germany, but about half of our form wanted to have a fancy one (their ball after dancing lessons in 9th grade wasn’t enough). I do folk-dance only, besides pogo ;)

@pixlyJolt: It *is* a nice & great comic (even if I wasn’t convinced about the art in the first years). Welcome aboard!
